A critical component of the FORWARD Kosciusko County Comprehensive Plan was engagement- whether in person or online. During the process, this virtual page was used to ask you about the community’s assets, challenges, and future aspirations. Below are the archived activities and results gathered during the process.
PUBLIC REVIEW SESSIONS
The FORWARD Kosciusko County planning team will host a series of four online open-house meetings to solicit input from the public on the preliminary recommendations for land use, transportation, utilities, trails, parks, and community facilities/programs that were generated as part of the County’s comprehensive planning effort.

​Due to the ongoing challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the four public workshops will be held online using the Zoom platform. Each session will feature the same presentation content, so residents are encouraged to attend the meeting that fits their schedule the best. Each session will include an introductory presentation as well as a Q&A session to discuss resident questions, concerns and ides.

The maps, graphics and corresponding comment form were also provided as a part of our public open houses held on November 15 in Syracuse and November 17 held in Mentone.
VISION, GOALS AND OBJECTIVE REVIEW
The plan's final vision, goals and objective statements will be used to make decisions regarding growth, development and future investment priorities. The draft statements were presented to the public at our recent Exploring Growth and Development Public Open House meetings which were held on November 15 in Syracuse and November 17 in Mentone.

COMMUNITY WIDE SURVEY INPUT IS NEEDED.
The community input survey will provide the project team with more detailed information related to the existing conditions within the area and the community’s future aspirations for development, amenities and infrastructure. The survey should take approximately 5-10 minutes, however you can spend longer depending on the information you are able to provide.

Throughout the Kosciusko County Comprehensive Plan, the project team will be exploring the community’s needs, ideas and highest priorities. This interactive map will help us identify opportunities, challenges, and share ideas about the community’s future.
